If you do not know about cancer and what toxins do to your body, read this book.

 • Mr. Diamond May Be The Victim Of His Own Diet
09 September, 2007

I actually am a fan of the "Fit for Life" books -- several things the Diamonds claimed back in the early '80s have panned out, such as margarine being worse for you than butter, eating many servings of fruit and vegetables a day, etc. But beware following Diamond's "ideal" vegan version of the diet. (He goes on at length in all his books about how bad animal products are for your health, and does advocate a strict vegan diet -- with no supplement pills -- as the ideal one.) Mr. Diamond, as he details on his website, has for years suffered from Peripheral Neuropathy, a condition that causes damaged nerves in the limbs. He believes the disease was caused by Agent Orange exposure in Vietnam, and also claims to be "one of the longest known survivors of this devastating condition to still be walking around on his own without assistance." He credits this to his healthy plant-based diet. Could be. But just Google "Peripheral Neuropathy." Go ahead, just Google it... and you'll see that ANOTHER cause of this disease is VITAMIN B12 DEFICIENCY. That's right. Let me repeat that: Harvey Diamond suffers from a disease that CAN be caused by not eating any animal products. I do think the "Fit for Life" principles can be used to structure a very healthy eating program... but think long and hard before cutting all animal products out of your diet.

 • Fit For Life: A New Beginning
13 May, 2007

I have all the Fit For Life books and am very glad that someone pointed them out to me. I started with the original FFL, then fell off the wagon, no fault of the book, as with most diets it just happened. This latest book though is a real eye-opener to the way we treat our bodies and what we can do to change that. The mono-diet makes perfect sense to me and I have decided to give it a shot for the sake of my health and fitness.

I prefer to hear him speak, but this is a well-written funny at times, easy to understand book that doubles as a great reference.

 • Disappointed
24 November, 2008

I am quite disappointed with the condition of the book ordered: Fit For Life:A New Beginning. The bottom of the pages were caved in and crumpled and not in good condition as stated. I rate this order very bad.Fit for Life: A New Beginning
