Editorial Review / Publisher's Information:
Product Description
In his nearly thirty years at CBS News, Emmy Award winner Bernard Goldberg earned a reputation as one of the preeminent reporters in the television news business. When he looked at his own industry, however, he saw that the media far too often ignored their primary mission: to provide objective, disinterested reporting. Again and again he saw that the news slanted to the left. For years, Goldberg appealed to reporters, producers, and network executives for more balanced reporting, but no one listened. The liberal bias continued. Now, breaking ranks and naming names, he reveals a corporate news culture in which the closed-mindedness is breathtaking and in which entertainment wins over hard news every time.

Terrific Look Inside The "nwesroom"
26 October, 2009
While the title of this book may lead you to believe that this book is all about the inside of a newsroom. That is not entirely true, but it is close. Mr. Goldberg not only shows us why bias is apparent in the network news room he also picks certain topics(homeless, AIDS, man bashing...) and does a little investigative reporting of his own. I found all of the passages well written and they grabbed my interest. One thing to remember is that this book is not written by a right wing wacko. This is written by a democrat who never voted for Reagan or either Bush. This is just a man who was sick of seeing the slant and the hypocrisy that goes along with it. I recommend this to anyone who has even a passing interest in the news and how it is reported to the nation.
Thanks

He Certainly Is!!!

I guess if you are super far right you might be suckered into buying the prmise of this book but anyone moderate on up won't be fooled by what has been proven since its publication to be pure trash. Goldberg may not be quite the fool Limbaugh or Beck play (neither of course believe the stuff they put on the airwaves) but he ceratinly has hurt America and hurt it badly. His othr book of the 100 People Screwing Up America has been implicated as a catalyst in the murder in the Holocaust Museum Murders. Talking about someone screwing up Ameica. Do your research on this book and you will find that its premise has been disproven by a number of sources and not just liberal. But knowing how the rating system works here those who can't think for themselves will give this review a no vote of helpfulness and others who have actually read it and then checked out his facts will know this review is accurate. So rate the review however you would like but at least make sure you have read the book first--because I'd bet you haven't.

Great Goldberg Investment!

This is really a great read about the "mainstream" media and its slanted reporting of the news. I just finished it and am looking forward to reading more from Mr. Goldberg. No wonder I no longer look at ABC, CBS, or NBC news! Long Live Fox News Channel and its fair and honest reporting!

It Has Only Gotten Worse

BIAS: A CBS INSIDER EXPOSES HOW TO DISTORT THE NEWS by Bernard Goldberg.
IN 1996, veteran TV reporter Bernard Goldberg wrote an editorial for the Wall Street Journal exposing the ingrained Liberal bias in the news programs of the three major networks and warned of the dangers. He was promptly attacked and, on the orders of Dan Rather, harassed, persecuted, blacklisted and eventually driven into an early retirement.
Along with extensive examples--ranging from the media's bigotry against White Males being victimized by totalitarian feminist laws while at the same time obscuring--to the point of falsification--black crime, the damage done to children being raised in single parent homes, to how the media immediately tried to blame Timothy McVea on conservatives and Christians but constantly obfuscate whenever Muslims or liberals committ terrorism to the constant portrayal as any non-liberal as a dangerous "other", Goldberg tells the sordid story of his professional destruction and the intolerant culture in the newsrooms.
With the recent orchestrated attack on conservatives, the Catholic Church, Christians in generals while shilling for Moslem terrororists and Obamacare, this book is still as vibrant and essential as when it was first published. Not only has nothing changed but it has incredibly become so bad that there is no difference between the Liberal media now and the former Soviet Media.
Chilling.
Disturbing.
Essential reading to understand our current reality.
